We went there: Kovac and Bayern triumphant in return to Frankfurt

FC Bayern’s Niko Kovac returned to Frankfurt for his first Bundesliga match since making the offseason move to Munich. Just like in the Supercup, the Bavarians were strong in all components in Frankfurt and came out 3-0 winners.

Franck Ribéry proved to be the man of the night, netting a goal in both halves. Rafinha added a late goal when his cross was too strong for Robert Lewandowski, but found the back of the net anyways.

Though the Eagles were overpowered, they did not head into the winter break with their heads slumped. They’re in sixth place, good enough for European competition next season. They also got a nice surprise from their top supporters after the match.
