GolTV will not only be televising Friday’s Ruckrunde opener between Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Bayern Munich (at 2:30 pm ET), but will be televising the Bundesliga in the United States and Canada through June, 2015.
GolTV is the world’s only live all-soccer bilingual television network. Last fall the Miami-based broadcaster renewed its agreement with DFL Sports Enterprises. “GolTV has held the exclusive TV rights to the Bundesliga since 2006,” said Enzo Francescoli, founder and CEO of GolTV. “Year after year, the Bundesliga has delivered some of GolTV’s top ratings, and we expect this trend to continue.”
DFL Sports Enterprises is a 100% subsidiary of the DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga. DFL officially represents all 36 football clubs of the German League Association and is the pivotal element in German professional football. The DFL is responsible for match operations as well as for the organization and marketing of both Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
“We selected GolTV because of its large and loyal viewership,” said Joerg Daubitzer, Managing Director of DFL Sports Enterprises. “Our partnership with GolTV ensures that the Bundesliga maintains high exposure in these top markets with matches as well as special programming such as ‘Hallo Bundesliga’ and the DFL-produced ‘Bundesliga Magazine.’ ”
GolTV commentator Phil Schoen is the host of ‘Hallo Bundesliga’ and was kind enough to do two interviews with the Bundesliga Fanatic more than a year ago when we were in our infancy and GolTV commentator Juan Arango is a friend of the Fanatic’s and the OGN.
The Fanatic is happy that GolTV will be bringing North American audiences several Bundesliga matches per week for the next three and half seasons in glorious HD. With more Bundesliga clubs earning more Champions League berths, young German stars like Marco Reus and Manuel Neuer signing new contracts to stay in the Bundesliga and the German national team touted to do well in the 2012 Euros, this a great time to be a fan of German football.
