The DFL has released the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2017/2018 seasons today. The top flight kicks off MatchDay 1 on the weekend of August 18 as champions FC Bayern Munich take on Bayer 04 Leverkusen, while the second division season kickoff will take place on Friday, July 28 when VfL Bochum host FC St. Pauli.
The exact times and dates of matches for the Bundesliga’s 55th season will be announced during the week of July 10, while those specifics for Bundesliga 2 will be published during the first week of July.
Other highlights of Bundesliga MatchDay 1 include runners-up RB Leipzig playing at FC Schalke 04 and third place Borussia Dortmund facing VfL Wolfsburg in the Volkswagen City, TSG Hoffenheim, which last season earned their first chance for European play, open the new season at home against Werder Bremen.
