We went there: Leverkusen back on track, ruin early Karneval

Bayer 04 Leverkusen needed no time at all to come back from their stunning defeat in the DFB Pokal, thrashing 1.FSV Mainz 05 on their turf 5-1.

Leverkusen put the pressure on early and often, putting four in the net in the first half. Wendell flew in for the first goal in the fifth minute. After Quaison tied it up four minutes later, Kai Havertz notched a goal, as did Julian Brandt and Karim Bellarabi before the end of the first 45 minutes.
