Borussia Dortmund could not finish the game on top this week. After a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt last Saturday and a 3-3 draw that ended with Bremen beating the Black and Yellow on penalties in the DFB Pokal on Tuesday, Dortmund saw another big lead go by the wayside as TSG Hoffenheim tied Dortmund 3-3.
BVB looked like they didn’t need Marco Reus or Lucien Favre, as Dortmund took a 3-0 lead into the final 20 minutes, thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Mario Götze, even after a first-half goal was waved off after VAR. Raphael Guerreiro gave Dortmund a 3-0 lead in the 66th minute, before Ishak Belfodil found the back of the net in the 75th minute, then Pavel Kadeřábek in the 83rd. Just four minutes later, Belfodil completed the unbelievable comeback, leaving the Yellow Wall red with anger. The loss, coupled with Bayern Munich’s win over Schalke in Saturday’s late match, shrinks Dortmund’s \lead over the Bavarians to just five points.
