Borussia Mönchengladbach kept their strong form going in their first home match of 2019, but needed two late goals to get over FC Augsburg.
Gladbach had several chances in the first half, including a penalty just before the break. But they just could not find the back of the net. Oscar Wendt finally put Gladbach on top after putting a loose ball away. And with Herrmann’s screamer being the last action of the match, Gladbach kept all three points in Borussia Park. Gladbach keeper Sommer has shut out five of his last six opponents. FC Augsburg, meanwhile, remain winless since the end of October.
