We are happy to share that our friends at Penguin Random House U.K. gave us a copy of Raphael Honigstein’s Klopp: Bring the Noise to giveaway! The book was recently released to U.S. audiences, but the U.K. version has been out since late 2017. This book is Honigstein’s second major book after 2015’s Das Reboot, which told the story behind Germany’s football rebuild, culminating in the 2014 World Cup victory in Brazil.
For Klopp, Honigstein interviewed an extensive array of people (family, friends, former teammates, fellow coaches, staff, etc. ) associated with the coach to create the most in-depth and perceptive portrait of football’s arguably most popular manager, Jürgen Klopp. Although now at Liverpool FC, the Swabian coach had long graced Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga sidelines at Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 of course. To date, Klopp’s greatest achievements are his back-to-back Bundesliga crowns with Dortmund in 2010-11 and 2011-12 (plus the Pokal crown in 2012), as well making the Champions League final with Dortmund in 2013 against Bayern Munich. His spirit continues to animate German football, and something tells us we haven’t seen the last of him coaching in Germany.
We have one copy of the U.K. version to give one lucky—and creative—reader in the U.S. To enter this contest, please create a one-sentence caption for this infamous image of “angry” Klopp from the 2013-14 Champions League group clash between Napoli and BVB:
Please email your submission to editor at bundesligafanatic dot com. You have until 11:59pm (EST) on Monday, March 12th to submit your caption. In your subject line, please write “Klopp Contest.” If your submission is chosen, we will mail you the book!
This contest is only open to readers in the United States.
