Following the Olympics, Meyer is looking ahead to a big season at Schalke under the new duo of Sporting Director Christian Heidel and Coach Markus Weinzierl. Although only 20 years old, Meyer enters his fifth season as a member of the Royal Blues’ senior squad. Since making his Bundesliga debut in February, 2013, Meyer has featured in 125 matches for Schalke in all competitions. The native of Oberhausen was ranked as the 32nd best player in the Bundesliga last season by Squawka.com, and scored six times in 41 matches during the 2015/2016 campaign.
