Training Starts Signal Coming of Bundesliga Season

Can you feel it?

The Bundesliga is slowly making its way back to us!

The 2015-16 season opener slated for August 14, but with the season fixture announcement for the top two German leagues coming at 1200 CET Friday, we’ll know who defending-champion FC Bayern will face on that celebratory Friday night, while also plotting all our fantasy trips for great match-ups and derby conflicts throughout the calendar.

Fixtures aren’t the real reason for this early-summer excitement. Nor are we yet able to compare and contrast all 18 clubs’ new kits for the coming season.

I’m not even concerned right now with transfers and transfer rumors; we have a whole other place where we cover the meat-and-potatoes of the gaping football hole that is the time between match day 34 and match day 1.

But players are returning from vacation for early practice sessions, which cannot help but inspire a little bit of summertime Bundesliga fever, right? Hannover 96, 1. FC Köln, and SV Darmstadt 98 all began to warm-up for the coming competition today, with several more clubs getting started in the next few days.

How about a few pics from the day to get your temperature up a bit?

If you haven’t yet heard of Darmstadt’s Dominik Stroh-Engel, you’re in for a treat.
It’s all fun and games on the first day back, eh coach?
