Roberto Firmino drama finally coming to its conclusion?

If the latest reports are to be believed, 1899 Hoffenheim’s offensive star is about to move to Liverpool FC for a Bundesliga-record transfer amount.

Have shoes. Will travel.

Bild is reporting the deal is done, with the English club shelling out 41 million Euro to acquire the Brazilian who emerged over the last two seasons as Hoffenheim’s biggest scoring threat, posting 16 goals in the 2013-14 campaign and another seven in the season just ended. Add to the goal tally a total of 22 assists the last two seasons and you get a picture of why a club that aspires to challenge for England’s Premiership would be so eager to secure such a talent.

According to Bild, the deal will be secured upon Firmino’s successful completion of a physical, presumably after the player has finished competing with the Brazilian national team in Chile during Copa America, where he provided his team’s game-winning goal in Sunday’s 2:1 victory over Venezuela, lifting Brazil to the top of Group C and setting-up Saturday’s quarterfinal battle with Paraguay. Die Fohlen add another talent to the stable

Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed their third signing of the summer (fourth, if you count this spring’s early signing of Lars Stindl) through the arrival of England youth-international and former Crystal Palace man, Mandela Egbo.

Max Eberl shows off latest signing Mandela Egbo

Egbo, aged just 17, will initially play for Borussia’s second string in the Regionalliga West. He is a right-sided player, strongest at full-back, but also strong as a winger.

“We are very happy that Mandela has chosen to play for us” said Max Eberl to borussia.de. “He is a player with great potential.”

“Massive thank you to everyone at Crystal Palace for an amazing seven years. So many great memories with some great people” wrote Egbo on his Twitter account. “Can’t wait to see what the future holds”.

He won the U17 European Championship with England in 2014 and has since graduated to the U18s, with two caps at that level to his name. He is yet to make a professional appearance at club level, having recently turned down a professional deal at Selhurst Park in favour of the switch to Niederrhein. (Conor Garrat)

Elias Kachunga joins FC Ingolstadt

The exodus from SC Padeborn continues.

The relegated side already had lost its leader, with coach Andre Breitenreiter taking over the reigns at Schalke 04. As we reported earlier, Mario Vrancic is expected to make official a move to SV Darmstadt Wednesday morning.

Kachunga moving from east Westphalia to Bavaria

And now it’s Elias Kachunga making a move to stay in the Bundesliga, with the 23-year-old forward joining 2. Bundesliga champion FC Ingolstadt upon successful completion of a physical this Friday.

The Köln-born striker appeared in all 32 Bundesliga contests for the SCP last season, tallying six goals and an assist for the relegated side. During Paderborn’s 2013-14 season, Kachunga delivered an 81st-minute game-winning goal at Ingolstadt on match day 30 to hand his future employer one of only two losses die Schanzer would suffer in the Rückrunde.

Kicker reports the transfer fee to be at 1.5 million Euro. (Randall G. Hauk)

Mainz tabs Fabian Frei as Geis-replacement

Mainz boss Christian Heidl had been clear about his club being in a position of not needing to sell any of its players and that it would do so only should a truly advantageous offer arrive.

That does not appear to have hindered Heidl from being prepared to replace players should it be necessary, as it was once Schalke 04 plunked a reported 11 million Euro on the barrelhead in exchange for young, talented midfield star Johannes Geis.

Fabian Frei happy to move to the Bundesliga

Following closely on the heels of the announcement of the Geis transfer, Mainz announced the acquisition of Swiss national player Fabian Frei from FC Basel, reportedly for a transfer fee of 5 million Euro, according to Transfermarkt.

Mainz and Frei also inked a new four-year deal as part of the move.

The 26-year-old midfielder played in 31 matches for the Swiss champion in league play and another eight in Champions League action, scoring one goal in each competition.

“The Bundesliga has long been my dream, and now with 1. FSV Mainz 05 will it come true,” said Frei to his fans via his official Facebook page. “I look forward to the challenge.” (Randall G. Hauk)

Schalke Sign Johannes Geis

FC Schalke 04 have just completed a big signing, acquiring Mainz midfielder Johannes Geis, 21, and inking him to a four-year contract.  The transfer fee was not revealed, but believed to be in the range of 11 million euros.

Despite his youth, Geis already has made 75 Bundesliga appearances since 2013, and he featured in every league match for Mainz last season, starting 33 of the 34 contests while scoring four goals along with four assists.  Geis also completed 73% of his passing attempts last season with Mainz along with winning 54% of tackles.  He created 178 chances and picked up four yellow cards.

Geis currently is a member of the German U-21 that is vying for the U-21 European championship in the Czech Republic.  Geis has represented German at every youth level beginning with the U-16 youth team.  The 5’9″ native of Schweinfurt began his professional career with SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Schalke Sporting Director Horst Heldt commented

We are delighted that one of the most coveted young players has chosen to join our club. Johannes possesses many great qualities; his dangerous set pieces, his passing game and his ability to find a man in space make him one of the Bundesliga’s best central defensive midfielders. The fact that he was already captain at Mainz at such a young age shows that he can and wants to take on responsibility.

Mario Vrancic becomes first new acquisition for SV Darmstadt

For the second consecutive season, Mario Vrancic will provide his services to a promoted side, according to a report in Kicker that says the midfielder will leave SC Paderborn to sign a contract with SV Darmstadt on Wednesday.

Vrancic in Bundesliga action

After being unable to help die Ostwestfalener avoid the direct return to the 2. Bundesliga by the end of the 2014-15 season, the 26-year-old appeared headed back to the second division thanks to his contract being valid for the lower-tier. A 500,000-Euro escape clause, however, paved the way for the new Bundesligists to make a reasonably inexpensive move to add needed depth and relegation-fight experience to their roster, especially with the loss of Hanno Behrens to 1. FC Nürnberg.

Vrancic provided two goals and an assist in 30 appearances for SCP this season, after delivering 5 and 10 the season prior in the same number of matches to help lift Paderborn into the Bundesliga. Even if the drop in production was a factor in the club’s failure to stay in the league, sporting director Michael Born indicated he’d hoped to keep his midfielder in eastern Westphalia while confirming the personnel loss.

“He has notified us that he is leaving and transferring to a first-division club,” said Born. “It is not for us, though, to disclose the new club.” (Randall G. Hauk)

End of the road for Westermann at HSV?

It looks like former international defender Heiko Westermann’s time at Hamburg is up with it looking unlikely the Hanseaten are going to offer him a new contract this summer.

The 31-year-old could also be set to leave the Bundesliga too with reports claiming that both Besiktas and Galatassary are keen on taking the German centre-back to the Turkish Super-Lig.

Another player leaving HSV this summer is Lasse Sobiech, who has moved the short distance to St.Pauli. The defender has been on loan at the Millerntor and will make the move permanent.

“We have an oral agreement with Lasse Sobiech and HSV,” explained sporting director Thomas Meggle. “The contracts just need to be signed.”

Transfer rumour: Are BVB set for sensational Gomez-Immobile swap?

The weekend may have been a bit slow on the transfer news front, but the start of the week certainly isn’t. Reports from Italy claim that a shock move to Borussia Dortmund could be on the cards for Mario Gomez.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Fiorentina are keen on taking Ciro Immobile from Borussia Dortmund and are ready to give up Mario Gomez as part of the deal.

New Viola coach Paulo Sousa apparently doesn’t see the 29-year-old German in his plans with sporting director Pedro Pereira looking to offload the former Bayern Munich striker.

It is believed Gomez would command a transfer fee of €12 million, but a deal involving Italian Ciro Immobile moving back to his homeland could make a deal with Dortmund an attractive prospect.

Transfer rumour: Bayern look to Ntep to replace Ribéry

Reports in Germany this morning claim that champions Bayern Munich are looking at Frenchman Paul-Georges Ntep from Stade Rennes as a replacement for the injured Franck Ribéry.

Bild have reported that the 22-year-old international is being sought by the hierarchy at Bayern as they seek to compensate for the long-term absence of Ribéry. It is claimed Bayern have been watching him over the past weeks and believe he could add to the Bavarians attacking third.

Ribéry has been out for three months with an ankle injury and it remains unclear whether he will be fit for the start of next season.

Ntep can play on both flanks, meaning he would also serve as an option should Arjen Robben be out. At around €10 million, the Cameroon-born player would by no means break the bank at Bayern when you consider the other option discussed earlier this season was Angel di Maria at €65 million.

06/22/2015 – 1200 CET

Hannover turn attention to Klaus

Hannover’s quest to add to their attacking options has seen them turn their attention towards SC Freiburg’s Felix Klaus.

It had been thought that Stuttgart’s Martin Harnik was their primary target, but now it has become evident that won’t be coming to fruition, the Red-shorts have turned to Klaus.

The 21-year-old is currently on U-21 international duty with Germany at the European Championships in the Czech Republic, but it is reported in Kicker that the Niedersachsen club are preparing a €3 million bid.

The wide player scored two goals in 31 games last season for the Breisgauer. His current contract with Freiburg runs to 2017.

06/22/2015 – 0032 CET

Happy end for Hosiner and 1. FC Köln

Jörg Schmadkte tried to sign the Austrian striker Phillip Hosiner last January. After everything was negotiated the striker failed the medical test, because EffZeh’s team doctor found a tumour in the player’s left kidney. The kidney had to be removed and the player went back to France. Now that Hosiner has managed to get back in shape and is back to full health Schmadkte managed to get the player to sign for the club after all. The transfer is going to go through today according to Bild, and Köln are likely to pay 1.2 million Euros in transfer fees to Stade Rennais according to the paper.

06/22/2015 – 0027 CET

Transfer rumour: Hertha keen on signing Sam?

Bild writes that Hertha’s plan to sign Balazs Dzsudzsak could be stopped by his club. The midfielder has contract until the end of the year and his club might force him to stay for the duration of his contract according to the paper. Another player that could solve Hertha’s issues might be Schalke’s Sidney Sam. He could probably leave the club for around 2.5 million Euros, but he’s on a 4 million Euro annual wage package. Bild writes that Hertha could afford the transfer if Brazilian playmaker Ronny is going to be sold to another club in the near future.

06/22/2015 – 0022 CET

Transfer rumour: Bayer keen on signing Jonathan Tah

Die Werkself are keen to bring the 19-year-old defender to the BayArena according to Bild. Tah spent last season on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and collected some much needed playing time in the second tier. Now the officials at Hamburg are keen to bring him back to the Volksparkstadion, but the club’s dire financial situation means that the club would be willing to sell Tah for the right price. Bayer are offering 6 million Euros and Robbie Kruse on top of the money according to Bild. If that is enough for HSV to become weak stands to be seen.

Tah wouldn’t be the first big talent that HSV have lost to Bayer. Only over the last couple of seasons HSV have sold Hakan Calhanoglu, Levin Öztunali and Heung Min Son to Bayer.

Need a new hobby? How about baking cakes?

Well, as you clearly can see, today’s transfers haven’t exactly knocked anybody’s socks off. If the Women’s World Cup and the U21 Euros aren’t enough football for you, how about taking up baking cakes as a hobby? Your family is going to be impressed(and a lot heavier by the end of the summer break). Former Fullham and 1860 München player Moritz Volz has been known to bake cakes ahead of every big match and Stfean Kiessling has even a cooking book with a delicious recipe for a Fanta cake. The recipe goes as follows:

Ingredients for the dough:

2 cups of sugar
1 pack of vanilla sugar
3 cups of flour
1 pack of backing soda
1 cup of backing oil
1 cup of fanta

Ingredients for the coating of the cake:

3 cans of mandarins
3 drinking cups of cream
1 pack of whipped cream stabiliser
1/2 a cup of sugar
3 drinking cups of clotted cream

How to bake your very own Kiessling Fanta cake:

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees(Celsius). Put all the ingredients for the dough in one large bowl and go stir crazy until you’ve managed to blend them together perfectly. Spread the dough out on the baking sheet and put it in the oven for roughly 10 minutes. Allow the dough to cool down after you’ve taken it out of the oven.

Combine all the ingredients for the coating, except the cinnamon and the mandarins, in one large bowl. Add the whipped cream stabiliser at the end and stir until you’ve got a firm, but creamy, mass in front of you. Open the 3 cans of mandarins, make sure to remove all the water and spread the mandarins on the cake in equal portions. Add the creamy stuff you’ve just stirred up on top of the mandarins, and sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the cake in the end.

Let the cake cool down for another hour or so before you serve it.

The cake has been tried by the fanatic’s own Niklas Wildhagen and has the Bundesliga fanatic mark of approval(for what it’s worth). Here’s a pic from Nik’s instagram account of how the cake should look.(And oh yes, we are all very bored by the lack of transfers and exciting news coming out of the Bundesliga this weekend).

06/21/2015 – 2224 CET Haggui joins Fortuna, Rajkovic about to leave HSV and Ndjeng signing for Paderborn Karim Haggui has for some time been out of the warmth at VfB Stuttgart. Now he has finally found a club that is willing to offer him the chance to get back on the pitch again. The 31-year-old has signed a two year deal at Fortuna Düsseldorf. Haggui has 172 Bundesliga matches for Bayer Leverkusen, Hannover and VfB Stuttgart to his name, scoring 11 goals. Former HSV sporting director Frank Arnsesen is getting his hands on a player he brought with him from Chelsea to Hamburg. Slobodan Rajkovic is set to sign a deal at PAOK according to several news reports in Greece and Serbia. And finally, Marcel Ndjeng has rejected Hertha’s offer of a two year deal. The defender would have played for Hertha’s second team and helped out the Bundesliga side during times of need had he signed the deal. The 33-year-old is now moving on to play for SC Paderborn. 06/21/2015 – 1300 CET Transfer rumour: Dortmund up interest in Mitrovic Borussia Dortmund’s reported quest for a new striker has moved onto Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic if the latest rumours are true. Wolfsburg’s Bas Dost has been linked with the Schwarz-Gelben, but it seems that Anderlecht’s front man is now very much on the BVB radar. Sky-Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Dortmund have already made contact regarding signing the 20-year-old from the Belgian club and are prepared to splash out around €15 million. However, if they are to do business, they may have to dig a little deeper in their pockets with Anderlecht manager Herman van Holsbeeck telling Sport/Voetbalmagazine, “If a club makes an enquiry, then I will say €25 million. We do not have to sell Mitrovic at any price”. Last season the Serbian scored 27 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions – one of which was against Dortmund in the Champions League group stage.

06/20/2015 – 2000 CET Santana out, Pazdan in at Schalke? Brazilian centre-back Felipe Santana looks to be on his way out at Schalke meaning the Königsblauen will be looking to add to their defensive options. According to polish newspaper Wirtualna Polska, the Bundesliga side are looking at acquiring Legia Warsaw defender Michal Pazdan. The Polish international remains under contract until 2016, but it has been made clear that his future lies oversees. His advisor Maciej Zielinksi confessed, “There is interest from the Bundesliga including Schalke. It is no secret that Michal has long dreamed of playing in the Bundesliga. I think by Tuesday or Wednesday we will know where Michal will play next season.” The other interested German parties in the 27-year-old are thought to be VfB Stuttgart and Hamburg 06/20/2015 – 16:00 CET Transfer rumour: Schalke to lose Matip The Königsblauen may have to steel themselves for the loss of centre back Joel Matip if the latest reports are to be believed. English Premier League side Newcastle United are being linked with a serious move for the 23-year-old with new manager Steve McClaren a big admirer. The Magpies are readying a €14 million bid for the Cameroon international- an offer the Germans may find hard to resist. His contract runs out next summer and efforts from Schalke to start negotiations over an extension have failed. The management team in Gelsenkirchen around new trainer Andre Breitenreiter may however have already identified a replacement in the form of Mexican Carlos Salcedo. Reports in Mexico claim the 21-year-old has intimated he is ready to move to Europe and could be tempted away from Chivas Guadalajara.

06/20/2015 – 1210 CET Transfer rumour: Llorente to Wolfsburg Reports today claim that Spanish striker Fernando Llorente could be on his way to the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg linked with the 30-year-old Juventus forward. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that should the Turin giants sign Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid, then the former Atletico Bilbao hitman would seek a move rather than settle for a role on the bench. As well as Wolfsburg, Champions League participants Borussia Mönchengladbach are also having their name linked with the player. Any move to die Wölfe would very much be linked to whatever happens regarding Bas Dost. Should the Dutchman be allowed to join either Borussia Dortmund or Newcastle United in England, then the arrival of Llorente at the Volkswagen Arena would seem all the more likely.

06/20/2015 – 1155 CET Leverkusen eyeing Aranguiz at Copa America Bayer Leverkusen look to have identified the player they want to sign to cover for the recently departed Gonzalo Castro. Reports claim the Werkself have sent representatives to the Copa America in Chile to assess Chilean midfielder Charles Aranguiz. The international team-mate of former Bayer player Arturo Vidal is high up on the wish-list of Leverkusen as they seek to formulate their squad for next season. Kicker claims that Bayer manager Jonas Boldt has travelled to South America to observe Aranguiz in action. He will no doubt be impressed with what he saw in the 5-0 quarter-final victory over Bolivia with Aranguiz scoring twice. The 26-year-old currently plays in Brazil for Sport Club Internacional, but has previously had spells with Colo Colo, Quilmes and Universidad de Chile. It is estimated he could cost up to €10 million.

06/20/2015 – 1140 CET Mainz looking at Geis replacement With transfer speculation mounting over the future of Mainz midfielder Johannes Geis, the 05er are reportedly scouting a potential replacement should the U-21 international leave the Coface Arena One candidate identified is FC Basel’s Fabian Frei and reports in the Basler Zeitung claim the player is open to a move to the Bundesliga. The 26-year-old international is also attracting attention from Hamburg. FC Basel would demand around €5 million for their player, but with Geis attracting the gaze of Schalke amongst others, there will be funds in the coffers should Frei be the target they go for. 06/19/2015 – 2300 CET Mainz Ink Leon Balogun 1.FSV Mainz 05 have completed their fourth summer signing, inking right back Leon Balogun to a three-year contract.  Balogun joins Mainz on a free transfer from SV Darmstadt 98. The Berlin-born Balogun joined the Lillies in 2014 following stints at Hannover, Werder Bremen and Fortuna Düsseldorf.  The 26 year-old has featured 23 times in Germany’s first division, as well as getting 32 games in Bundesliga 2 and 49 in 3. Liga, as well as four caps for the Nigerian national team. Mainz Coach Martin Schmidt said of the 26 year-old

In Leon Balogun we have found an aggressive, strong-tackling full back, but who is also flexible across the back-four. He is a nice, intelligent guy who will not just enhance our team on the pitch, but also in the changing room

balogun 06/19/2015 – 2055 CET Done deal: Köln sign Modeste from Hoffenheim Köln have confirmed the signing of striker Anthony Modeste from Hoffenheim. The 27-year-old replaces fellow Anthony (Ujah) who has joined Werder Bremen after penning a deal with the Geisböcke until 2019. The Frenchman scored 23 goals in 62 games for the Sinsheim club and had been widely tipped as a successor to the departing Ujah. Neither club has as yet revealed the transfer fee involved. “He matches our player profile exactly,” explained sporting director Köln Jörg Schmadtke. “He’s a robust, dangerous striker. He knows the Bundesliga and will enhance our offensive game.” Modeste had spells with the likes of Nice, Bordeaux, Blackburn Rovers and Bastia before joining Hoffenheim ahead of the 2013-14 season.

06/19/2015 – 0448 CET Dominik Kohr Makes Permanent Move to FC Augsburg Midfielder Dominik Kohr, who was loaned by Bayer 04 Leverkusen to FC Augsburg in January, 2014, is now a permanent member of the Bavarian club.  THe 21 year-old native of Trier signed a four-year contract with FC Augsburg. Kohr came up in the ranks of the Leverkusen youth system and played eight senior squad matches for Die Werkself, debuting in 2012.  He has made 34 league appearances for FCA since his loan was made and scored the only goal in Augsburg’s 1-0 upset of VfL Wolfsburg in March. 06/18/2015 – 1825 CET Done deal: Hertha confirm Weiser signing Hertha Berlin have confirmed their capture of Bayern Munich winger Mitchell Weiser on a free transfer. The 21-year-old has penned three-year deal in the capital and is the club’s first summer acquisition. “Mitchell Weiser is a young player, capable of developing, and who has a lot of pace down both flanks” explained manager Michael Preetz. “He is just as offensive as he is defensive and he matches our player profile exactly. Weiser joined the Bavarians in 2012 from 1FC Köln and made 16 Bundesliga appearances scoring once. He had a brief spell on loan at Kaiserslautern in order to gain more first-team opportunities. The youngster made quite an impact at the tail-end of the season at Bayern being included in the last seven of Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad and impressing on the pitch. He laid on four assists and grabbed one goal in the process. Weiser may just be the first new signing with the club also reportedly looking at bring Hungarian winger Balazs Dzsudzsak to the Olympiastadion.

06/18/2005 – 1810 CET Transfer rumour: Schalke go for Brazilian Reports in Kicker claim that Schalke are close to a deal that would see Brazilian defender Junior Caicara move to the Veltins Arena from Bulgarian side Ludogorets. The 26-year-old right-back is on the radar of manager Horst Heldt as the Königsblauen look to fill a problem position. The oft-injured Atsuto Uchida had to be replaced last season by variations of Benedikt Höwedes, Marco Höger, Kaan Ayhan and even Tranquillo Barnetta at times. Caicara is an offensive minded fullback as his six goals in 17 league appearances last season shows. Schalke have reportedly agreed terms with the player, but it remains for an agreement to be made with his club for a player under contract until 2017. 06/18/2015 – 1800 CET Behrami to follow van der Vaart out the HSV door? Hamburg could be set to lose another player from their squad with the news that Swiss midfielder Valon Behrami is rumoured to be on his way. The Swiss international made his feeling clear recently that he was far from happy at HSV saying that “Hamburg has been a negative experience for me.” The Rothosen’s manager Peter Knäbel is clearly not going to lose any sleep over the potential departure telling Bild: “If he wants to go, then I assume he will come to us”. A lot was expected of the player when he arrived last summer, but the relationship has soon turned sour and a parting of the ways seems inevitable. Anyone interested in taking Behrami off HSV’s hands would expected to pay around €5 million.

06/18/2015 – 1750 CET Köln change defensive target The predicted transfer of Brazilian defender Douglas from Russian side Dinamo Moscow looks to have hit the rocks and it could well be now that the Geisböcke will turn their attention elsewhere as they look to fill a Kevin Wimmer-sized hole in their defence. According to Kicker one new target identified by the Rheinlander is Carlos Zambrano of Eintracht Frankfurt. The Peruvian is on Copa America duty at the moment and with his contract at the Commerzbank-Arena up in the summer, he could make the move to Köln on a free transfer. 06/18/2015 – 0700 CET Eintracht Frankfurt Sign Austrian GK Acording to kicker Eintracht Frankfurt have signed goalkeeper Heinz Lindner to a two-year contract on a free transfer from Austria Wien.  The 24 year-old has played in over 180 matches in all competitions, including Europe, for the venerable Austrian club since moving up from the reserve side in 2010.  The 6’1″ native of Linz also has earned seven caps for the Austrian national team. 06/17/2015 – 1930 CET Drmić seals ‘Gladbach move It was a matter of formalising the deal but now it’s official: Josip Drmić is a Borussia Mönchengladbach player. Die Fohlen have had to fork out 10m€ for the Swiss striker, who had only joined Bayer Leverkusen the previous summer from 1. FC Nürnberg for 6.8m€. Things didn’t work out for him at the BayArena but we have all seen what he’s capable of when playing with confidence, which he should get at his new club. Drmić has put pen to paper to a four-year contract and sporting director Max Eberl is delighted to have got his man. “We were interested in signing Josip Drmić last year but on that occasion he chose to join Leverkusen. We’re delighted that everything has come together now. Josip is a quick and dangerous attacker and is going to fit in well”.   06/17/2015 – 1900 CET Goalkeeping merry-go-round (Part II) The game of musical chairs involving Bundesliga keepers may be set for another round with the news that Hannover custodian Ron-Robert Zieler is attracting the interest of Italian side AS Roma. The German international (and World Cup winner) has reportedly sparked the interest of the Giallorossi. He is contracted to the Niedersachsen outfit until 2017, but the lure of Champions League football and an appropriate level of financial compensation could oil the wheels of a deal. Zieler began his pro career at Manchester United, but never made a first-team appearance for the Red Devils. Since moving back to Germany, the 26-year-old has made 148 appearances for the Red shirts, and has represented his country at nearly every level internationally. The prospect of swapping Bundesliga struggles for Champions League football could tempt the Hannover keeper to once more try his luck abroad. 06/17/2015 – 1830 CET Transfer rumour: More business for Hoffenheim Hoffenheim are certainly getting their summer transfer business done quickly this year and if reports are to be believed, another new arrival could be imminent in the form of striker Marc Uth from Dutch side SC Heerenveen. Bild is reporting that the Kraichgauer are already putting the 23-year-old former German junior international through his medical checks ahead of a move to Sinsheim. Uth scored 20 goals for the Dutch side in last season’s Eredivisie helping them to seventh in the table. The youngster is a product of the Köln youth system, but moved to the Netherlands to get more regular first-team football. The player has agreed terms with Hoffenheim- t is just a case of the two clubs sorting out the financial side of the transfer. 06/17/2015 – 1800 CET Transfer rumour: Hertha Berlin closing in on Weiser The race for the signature of Bayern Munich free-agent Mitchell Weiser looks to have been won by Hertha Berlin according to Kicker. The 21-year-old will move to the German capital for free following the expiration of his deal at the Allianz Arena. It is believed the wideman will sign a contract until 2018 with Berlin and get regular first-team football rather than accept an offer from Bayern, which perhaps would have seen his action limited. Weiser made 13 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarians last season winning positive reviews for his performances. He scored once and provided four assists throughout the title winning campaign.

06/17/2015 – 1300 CET Hugo Almeida set for Bundesliga return? Former Werder Bremen striker Hugo Almeida is being linked with a return to Germany with both 1FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly courting the 31-year-old. The Portuguese forward is a free agent after his contract with Russian side Kuban Krasnodar expired and Sport-1 claim the Bundesliga duo are amongst a number of clubs trying to sign him. “From my advisor I know that clubs from Germany, Turkey and Russia are interested” Almeida explained. “I love the Bundesliga. I had five great years in Bremen. I am fit, motivated and stronger than before. Perhaps I can still play in one of the world’s top leagues.” Almeida scored three times for Krasnodar in 13 games in the second half of the Russian season helping them to reach the Russian Cup final. 06/17/2015 – 1245 CET Done deal: Hoffenheim sign Czech Kaderabek Hoffenheim have further strengthened their squad with the announcement that they have signed promising Czech defender Pavel Kaderabek from Sparta Prague. The 23-year-old right back was voted the league’s ‘Player of the Year’ last season and was being courted by a number of clubs. Hoffenheim have prevailed tying him to a four-year deal until 2019. Kaderabek has played eight games for the Czech national side scoring once. A fee of around €3 million is believed to be involved. The new boy in Sinsheim won’t have long to wait to meet one of his new team mates. He is currently on U-21 duty at the European Championships in his homeland and will possibly be lining up against Hoffenheim striker Kevin Volland on Tuesday as the two nations meet.
