NEWS – DFB Pokal First Round Fixtures announced

While all eyes are on international football the domestic seasons are not to far away and with it the annual excitement of knockout competitions like the German Cup.  Oliver Bierhoff was present at the draw for the first round of the competition, which took place in Gdansk, Poland where Germany’s training camp is currently located.

The matches will take place between August 17th and August 20th, 2012 with the final held once again in the Olympiastadion in Berlin on 1 June 2013. The first round is already offering some juicy matchups with a Bavarian derby between Bayern Munich and the just promoted 2. Bundesliga side Jahn Regensburg while Bayer Leverkusen will look to put last seasons’ first round shock in the past with another chance against an East german club, Carl Zeiss jena.  Defending champions Borussia Dortmund will travel to fourth league side FC Oberneuland.
