Listen up: The best quotes of match day 15

Match day 15 had it all. The top four played each other for the second time in three weeks, Pizarro found out how one can floor a Bayern defender and there were plenty of goals to go along with it.

Klaus Allofs might see things through the green and white glasses there, speaking about Pizarro’s elbow on Badstuber: ”This isn’t a red card for me.”

Franck Ribbery was surprised Arjen Robben took the second penalty of the match. The Frenchman was on a hattrick so this quote might be a bit surprising: ”I thought Mario (Gomez) was going to take this penalty to get a confidence boost. I do believe that we have to think about all the players in the team.”

Stuttgart’s Christian Gentner was frustrated after Köln had managed to come back and grab the equalizer late in the game: ”We were too selfish. From time to time we didn’t pass the ball to the team mates in a better position, and therefore we didn’t manage to make it 3-1.”

Torsten Fink wasn’t happy about his team’s win: ”I’m not satisfied with my team’s performance. We were stronger against Hannover. I don’t want to hear any talk about the 6th position in the table. We need to stabilize in the middle of the table and we have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to achieve that.”

Felix Magath sums the Wolfsburg situation succinctly neatly: ”The team is afraid.”

Robin Dutt seems to be a happy man these days: ”We have started to win games in which we are not at our best. We’ve played better before. But I’m happy all things considered.”

Uli Hoeness on rumors that Hertha Berlin headman Markus Babbel will replace Jupp Heynckes next season.  “I can assure you that we will not be making Jupp Heynckes move upstairs,” Hoeness told the Tznewspaper. “We are more than grateful that he has come to us.  He has a contract until June 2013 and we will not think for one second about (him not fulfilling) it.”

Ivica Olic on his future at Bayern Munich.  “I’d say there’s a 50% chance that I leave the club in the winter. I am definitely moving on at the end of the season though,” Olic was quoted as saying by Bild. “I don’t have any problem staying until the end of my contract. It’s not as if I desperately want to leave this winter. We will just have to wait and see what happens until January and then make a decision.”

FC Augsburg goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif on Cristian Fuch’s 66th minute long-range goal that put Schalke ahead just after Augsburg had equalized.  “It’s a thankless job for a goalkeeper but I should have stopped that — quite clearly,” Amsif said. “We’re missing the intelligence to make more from fewer chances.”

In the aftermath of 1. FC Nurnberg’s loss to Hamburg SV , Nürnberg’s coach had this to say.  “We displayed a very good away performance but failed again to score,” Nuremberg coach Dieter Hecking said. “For all the effort, the effectiveness is simply missing.”
